Books Are My Jam Book Fair

Our JMB Books Are My Jam Book Fair will be here soon!  Supporting a love for reading is critical to student success and supporting our school is just as important!  Our JMB Books Are My Jam Book Fair will run from February 21–February 24.

All the proceeds from the bake sale will go toward 3rd Grade’s upcoming field trip!

On Tuesday, February 7 from 7:30-8:00 or 4:30-5:00 we will be having our 1st annual "Dads and Kids" Donut Day at our school.  You will meet here at the school cafeteria at 7:30 or 4:30 for FREE donuts and drinks.  We will have a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) Program.  WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student's life.

This year the Yearbook Committee would like to continue the tradition of giving all of our JMB students a free yearbook.  You can help us raise money to support this cause by purchasing a Smencil from February 1-February 10.  Students can purchase them during lunch on these days.  A Smencil is a scented pencil with a short message attached.  They will be $3 each or 2 for $5.  Buy one for your friends, classmates, students, and teachers!  The Smencils will be delivered to students on Tuesday, February 14.

Making sure each of our JMB students receives a free yearbook is a huge task.  It truly takes a village.  We appreciate all of your support!

JMB 4th & 5th Graders--It is Time to Dance!

The JMB Yearbook Committee will be hosting a Valentine's Dance for all 4th and 5th grade students.  The dance will be after school on Thursday, February 9 until 5:00.  Students will need to be picked up promptly at 5:00 on the cafeteria side of the school.

The cost of the dance ticket is $2.  Snacks will be available for the purchase of $1 each.  Look for more information in your child's Tuesday folder.

All proceeds will go to funding a yearbook for each JMB student.  This is a goal we have each year.  This is a big task and can only be accomplished with the help of our teachers, students, and parents.

JMB Read-a-thon!

Read-a-thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-a-thon begins on Monday, February 13, 2023 and will end on March 3, 2023.

About one week before our Read-a-thon begins we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page.  This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.  Don't worry--it is super easy!

If you want to get a jump start you can activate your reader's account today by using this link and follow the simple instructions.

We have chosen Read-a-thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

We want everyone to participate.  All proceeds will go to funding each JMB student with their own yearbook this year.  Your support is greatly appreciated.  Each year our goal is that EVERY JMB student will receive a yearbook.  This is a huge task and takes a lot of support from our students, parents, and our community.

Thanks so much for your kindness.  Be on the lookout for more information to come home soon.
